I'm just trying to educate myself here. I've attached a picture of Jimi. What I'd like to know is, what exactly is the purpose of the subtympanic shield? When I pet him there he's in heaven....not to be rude, but its so big, it feels like a giant testicle. Also, I was very surprised when petting the top of his head that the bumps aren't hard, they're quite soft and pliable. What is going on with that? Thanks in advance to everyone. Attachments:

lol, I'm not sure what that big scale on their cheeks are for, perhaps they developed for the use of defense or to look threatening, but I don't really know. I have always heard those bumps on their head to be called "Brain Bumps" but I don't honestly know if that is their brain or just soft tissue, haha. Sorry for the late posting, but there's my two cents P.S. He is one good look'n iguana!
