Iggys ear is healing up good. We are in the process of moving up to an apartment on another floor, Iggy and Angus are now in separate rooms so we will see how things go. Angus was a little freaked out by the move but seems to have calmed down already, Iggy acts like we have been living there for months ;D. Angus still has a little swelling in the area where Iggy bit him but it doesnt seem sore. Just an update ;D

It's possible that it's the ballast. I have one to send back that doesn't work at all...never used but to try and plug it in for the first time. Depending where you got it - if it was from the reptileuv site - I strongly suggest phoning over emailing. BobMac gets hundreds of emails and they sometimes get passed over.

Don't use the bulb without the ballast. It will render the UVB useless by damaging the bulb irreparable. This leads me to another tip. Never use the clamp lamp to turn the bulb on and off. Always use the power source. The new ballasts don't have on/off switches I don't think. You will need to either plug the ballast into a socket that works with a switch - or set it on a timer to rely on the power down and power up. If you do have a switch on the clamp lamp - tape it in the "on" position until you have yourself trained not to touch it...:-D

Ok thanks, I hope no damage has been done because hubby had it plugged in without the ballast.

That may not be good. There's a reason for the ballast...

Here is what happened with the light, they sent me the wrong bulb, they sent a self ballasted lol thats why the ballast wasnt working right. So they are going to send me the correct bulb and a return lable so I can ship the other one back. I know I will continue to buy my lighting from them, they are good people.

Awesome!! They are easy to deal with. You should notice a big difference in Angus in just a few days once you get it set up and plugged in. I look forward to that update, too...:-)

I am using the one that they sent me by mistake, and I can already see a change. Angus head is now a lavender color, its really neat looking he really seems to like the light.

Excellent! I can't say enough about these bulbs and how well they work. The proof is in the lizard... .
