Unfortunately we have had to delay building cages for Venus and Iggy. Iggy has gotten too big for her cage and has figured out how to open her doors by throwing herself at the middle level of the doors, she is very territorial of her cage still and will try to bite you if you pet her while she is in there. She is getting so big need to do measurements. Angus is my handsome boy and I think he knows it, he sits pretty as canbe while basking, dewlap extented and back legs stretched out. He is such a sweetie, and a mamas boy ;D. We made it through his first breeding season with no issues . Venus is a spoiled brat LOL. And is adjusting quickly, her mouth has healed, eats good and now takes food from my hand. Only problem now is a couple of her spikes are in the process of falling off. Im pretty sure its previous damage, since most of her spikes are looking better compared to a month ago. As soon as I get measurements I will add them.

Why do you need to delay cage changes? Large igs need large homes?
It's great to hear she Venus is doing so much better. The spikes coming off are as simple as low humidity. Just mist more often and get in some extra bathing when you can...:-)

It wont be a long delay, just dont have time right now. Hopefully construction will begin in 3 weeks or less. We still have yet to buil doors for Angus cage, we may let his with just the clear shower curtain for a door. Venus hates the tub but we are working on it with her, she calms down after several minutes. Has anyone elses Ig ever bit their own toungue? I was hand feeding Venus a collard leaf and noticed tiny bits of blood so my hubby gently opened her mouth and it looks as if she bit her tounge.

I'm sure tongue-biting happens from time to time. That's a lot of tongue and a lot of sharp teeth it has to pass at times. I've never had one that has done this without a struggle being the cause...but I would imagine it's possible. Could it be a tooth had also been knocked out or something. They do lose teeth on a regular basis.
