Z was being very nice today while i was feeding him as long as i kept the food coming i could pet him and not just a little pet but he allowed me to firmly lay my hand across his back and once i went so far and to pck him up and move him two inches over, at first i thought becuase i replaced a burnt out basking light the day before maybe the new one wasnt warm enough so i got the temp gun and everything was fine. but when i stopped feeding him and reached over him to straighten his uvb fixtures he got scared and jumped down to his eating shelf. i hope he keeps up the good behavoir while eating it could lead to him being ok with me when im not offering him food

Hand feeding is a great way to socialize Zair. Just becareful you don't spoil him to it. There have been a lot of cases where igs decided that eating out of their bowl was just way too much effort since their pet human would come along to hand feed them.
Heck I can lead Zok all over the house with a slice of bread!

at the moment he's much happier to eat out of his bowl and have no one touching him, but i just give him a leaf or two than give him his bowl so he's still eating out of that himself everyday
do most igs like stuff like bread? i offered zair some on several ocasions to see if he liked it but he wouldnt touch it

Oh yeah. To the ones that I have seen eat it it must be like Crack! They positively LOVE IT! Zok will stand up on her hind legs and reach for it to the point it looks like a dog begging. I have seen picts of Dom's Rex doing the same thing. Zok will follow you around and climb up in your lap to see if you have any more!
One thing I have noticed though is that the day after she has some bread she doesn't eat much of her greens. Guess she's holding out in hopes of more BREAD!
