My ig hates the bath, unfortunatly she gets dirty and must be washed. she thrases around and flails all over. Is there any easy ways to calm her down so I can get a god soak in?!

Yah!! I know, my baby is kinda the same way. If you take him in and just put him in the water [which he doesn't want to go, clinging big time] then he just seems wild. But I have learned that if I put him in the water [making sure he can touch bottom] and don't move my hand right away, and kinda swish, realy slow, the water over his back, he tends to relax and let go of his grip, so that I can walk away, and he is on his own for his swim. Also make sure that your water doesn't cool down too fast, they will learn not to like that either.

try holding her while she is in the water, lower her in and keep your hand around her. Mine hate baths too!

thanks for both responses, yeah im going to try tommorow. Worst comes to worst she ahs to deal with it, unless she gets to nuts, I'll deal with a stinky ig for a bit rather than an injured one

Some igs freak out with the white of the tub. It's like a huge void - nothing to reference. You could place a rock in there for clinging and a sense of something other than this "nothingness".

Sancho did that for about a year...He now enjoys the tub it seems almost overnight. Although, in season he likes to soak so he'll likely be back to the "mom, I'm not having a bath or a shower" mode. I'm with Prism on adding something for her to sit on...maybe even a tub mat to show there isn't a big white abyss waiting to swallow her up? lol You could also try a mat with the shower, some igs prefer showers. Keep with it, she'll likely relent.

I do have a rock in mine also. I have too, my tub leaks, or should I say the plug leaks, so I have to place a rock on it so that I don't lose the water before it's time.

My iguana loves baths I place a brick in there so he has something to stand on, one time when I gave him a bath he suddenly freaked out and ran around the room. Then later his claws were so sharp that he was on the ceiling and would not come down lol. I say thats funny!
