Ever hear of it?
It looks like a seriously diseased cucumber... same shape with mottled green and yellow coloring and nubs. It's a winter squash.
Well, Gil LOVES it!
To prep it: cut in half lengthwise. Scoop out all the seeds, and grate it (or use the food processor).
I have NO idea about the nutritional aspects of it... I got it based on the assumption that all winter squashes are OK. (If anyone learns otherwise, let me know)

It's not in the USDA nutrient database, but it is a winter squash, so it should be fine.

Ive never heard of them either!! Is this what you are talking about? I found them to be aka peanut squash, sweet potato squash, and Cucurbita pepo; but I didn't find any info in the USDA database using those names either. I found that it is an heirloom variety. The food network encyclopedia says they are good sources of potassium, iron and vitamins A and C.

It actually has nubs on it... I'll take a pic and post it next time I get one.

I just gave Will a Tatuma winter squash. He loved it! I was only going to give him a half, but the first half disappeared so quickly, I gave him the other half which he ate as quickly as I could scoop it out.

That's it, Tesa... the first one I got must have been some kind of mutant. The new ones are much smoother and look exactly like your picture.
BTW... I misspelled it... it's Delicata.

I gave one (Delicata) to Will yesterday. He liked it a little bit. Loved the Tatuma winter squash, though. Maybe other igs will love it too.
