I had seen this on another form that an owner said that the vet told them to feed the female that was gravid to give her gerber vegetable food. Would this be a good thing? For a gravid female? Or any time?

If the iguana is in good shape it will do just fine on the fat stored in its tail. I know it makes you crazy for your daily feeder to suddenly stop eating but this is the way nature built them. It's just another of the quirks you learn to deal with.
If you were wanting to try to her feed anything, I would try the regular iguana diet, liquified in a blender. But would not be surprised if the ig didn't take it. When they are full of eggs there really is no room for food.

About the only reason I can think someone would suggest giving baby food to an iguana is to force feed her. The problem is, it is normal for a gravid female to gradually decrease her food intake down to not eating at all for the last 2 or three weeks. Force feeding her at that stage will cause complications since it is a perfectly natural behavior which is required for making room for the eggs as they grow.
As long as the baby food is fruits and/or vegetables only, there shouldn't be any harm. There's no reason to do it though, and force feeding a gravid ig when she goes of her food is a very dangerous thing to do.
