Hello all..
I been having a really hard time finding turnip greens. First I didnt know how they were called in portuguese and Tania helped me out on that, but now that I know what they are I cant find them in good shape at the store..They just looked horrible..
Its easy to find collards and mustard, but I wanted to know what I should use as a 3rd green since I cant get turnip or dandelion. So far I been using Arugula.. Any better choices?
I added some green bell pepers to Vagas salad today. Was that bad? Only after I gave it to her I was reading the forum and I see Yellow and Red Bell peppers on the suggestions..something wrong with the green ones?!
thanks renato

Don't worry too much about always offering turnip greens, it isn't critical. They aren't available in good condition very often here either. Arugula is a good choice when you can't get other stuff. You might also try Cilantro occasionally. Green peppers in her salad should be just fine. The main reason I use red or yellow peppers is just for color contrast, to make my igs' food more colorful and visually appealing to them.

Thanks Sean... I was affraid there could be something wrong with the green bell peppers... thats sure a relief... Like I said, Tania was helping me out with the translation of some english names of vegetables to portuguese. I just found this link and I remember seeing some other portuguese speaking users at IZ other then me and Tania, so I thought it could be useful to share it with them www.sk.com.br/sk-veget.htmlthanks again for the info.. renato ps - I was having a hard time translating Cilantro because it was showing up as "coentro" but I always heard coentro was called Coriander...i just found this quote: "Cilantro: The leaves of the Coriander plant and also known as Chinese Parsley." I for one HATE coriander, tastes way too strong for me, but I am gonna try it next time to see if Vaga will like it..

Any one diet part is not critical rather you want a good and rotating variety of all in the diet. Around my area it usually happens that when I can't find one I cant find any of them.

Thanks Prism and MAR. I was just really curious if I could find turnips because I keep hearing how healthy they are.
The list you posted helps Prism and the link I posted has some extra ones I hadnt been able to translate before..
