I think I've done a reading overkill because I've totally confused myself!! What I have in Puppys enclosure at the moment is a clip on heat lamp with a 100 watt household bulb and another clip on heat lamp with a nocturnal black bulb in it. Is this or is this not the correct lights to have in his enclosure? AND I know the temps should be around 90 and then a cool spot around 75 BUT is this temperature to be maintained all night? The noctural light does not get as hot so do i need to add a ceramic heating thingie? I do take him out into the sunlight for 30 mins to an hour everyday. So if I'm not doing what I need to for his health please let me know!! Also off the subject of lighting, I haven't done the bath thing yet. I don't actually wash him do I?

You have a good start on the lighting for your iguana, those lamps will take care of the heat issue. See this thread for more info about the UVB lamp that you need. tesa.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=light&action=display&thread=1066652819Many people here are having great results with the MegaRay Flood from ReptileUV. I happened to be the unlucky guy who got a bad one, but they are making an extraordinary effort to correct the problem and giving me personal attention that is almost unheard of in today's world. I recommend checking out www.reptileuv.com to get a UVB solution from a company that has the health of your reptile as its top priority. Heh...BobMac even expressed concern over Hercules' "bed head" in my sig photo, which makes his spikes lay down in the morning (he and Audrey both sleep in my bed under my blanket, so their spikes take a little while to stand back up in the morning). This concern shows that he truly cares about the health of our animals. Way to go BobMac!! ;D BTW...taking your iguana out in the sun every day is a very good idea.

I haven't done the bath thing yet. I don't actually wash him do I? No, you don't actually "wash" him Just put warm - about 90 degrees - water in the tub, about Ig chest high, and put him in there and let him swim around. At first, he may really hate it - But just be patient and consistant, and he will get used to it. The other advantage, he will probably decide that he likes to poop while in there, just drain and refill the tub if he hasn't been in there very long. There are a lot of additional tips that you can use if he really really hates the tub. If you need them, just give a yell.

I'll take all the bathing tips you got!!! ;D
I finally got a thermostat up and it says that the temp is going down to 75 with the nocturnal light on, is this bad or normal? I've read that it should be around 90 - 95 but unless I'm missing it each time I'm not seeing if it's supposed to be a constant all day all night temp.

I don't think that 75 F is too bad for a night time temp. Bob usually wanders over to a shelf 7 feet from his heater for the night anyway.
My experience with CHE's has been piss poor. I had high temp wire to a ceramic base with no hood over the light running off a dedicated plug and the damn thing still burnt itself out. It actually melted the internal solder on the electrodes.
I have only had it for three days now but have fallen in love with the MegaHeat heat emitter from reptileuv.com($25). It is only 60 W vs. the 150 W of a CHE but it maintains a warm basking spot while allowing you to hold your hand on it. So far it has given a very nice gradient without heating the entire room so it also has the approval of my human roommate. Not to mention it is all around cheaper than a CHE.
An hour outside is a little short if it is his only UV source. I let Bob outside whenever I can and it is sunny. In fact I am sitting on my patio right now as Bob wonders, his 8 meter long leash is tied to my chair leg.

Ok thanks!! I'm feeling the need for an outside enclosure! I built the one we have in hopes for rolling it from inside to outside but it's just a tad too wide cuz we have to unhinge doors to get it thru. I'm heading to the pet store today for a UVB bulb. Is that all I'll need? I was reading up on Vita-Lite, says it has UVA and UVB, would it be best for me to get that? I tried to check out the MegaRay but with some internet restrictions from work I just couldn't do it. Hopefully I can research it a bit tonight!

Until Monday I have been using Zoo-Med's Reptisun 8.0 (aka IguanaSun 8.0). Buying online will save a lot of money -- sometimes 1/2 the cost of the petstore -- the one time I did this I went through lllreptile.com
