I would like post here, where it really belongs, my experience with BobMac. It starts when I had Willie medicated for worms. He was fine until his second dose. Then his feces became hard, he strained to pass them, and ALMOST stopped eating. Then, Dom suggested I give him yogurt, while I waited for some Nutribac to arrive. He also suggested prunes and prune juice to loosen up his feces. We both hoped this would break up his constipation and enable Will's intestines to break down his food better. The prunes helped Will to pass his feces, but he stilll had no appetite. I sprinkled Nutribac on his food, but he ate so little...it had no effect. This is when I decided a Mega Ray would help. Mine arrived yesterday, but there was no ballast box. When Bob and I connected, he felt very badly about the missing part, and said he would fed ex it to me today. That, by itself, was above and beyond what I expected. But, more than that, he had some successful suggestions for how to spike Willie's appetite. I think IguanaKing had the same very kind experience with him. It's an imperfect world...things arrive broken or beyond that ....missing. But, when that occaisionally happens with Bob's stuff, he goes way beyond our wishes to make things right again. You da bomb, Bob! Many, many thanks! Nance

I'm sure he would love to hear that in a personal e-card. I have just the place... ;D. Some time ago I requested to the wonderful webmaster/site owner to include some iguana e-cards to her Custard Pie Postcards. A short time later she sent me an e-mail saying she would work on that...a couple of weeks later...she sent me the link. www.custardpie.com/Wait for the page to load...you'll see them...

Thanks, Veronica! I quoted some of what I wrote to Bob in an email to him and suggested he go to Iquana-Zone where he could read the entire post. I think he did because I got a very appreciative note back.
The new ballast box arrived today. YAY! Willie stayed on the floor watching me set up his new lighting with his head cocked...really curious and involved. the readings are great at 12". He's gone to bed, now. I'll know more how he adapts to it tomorrow.
Thanks for your tip on the cards. If I hadn't already written him, I would use one. Bob is great because he is staying in touch to see how Willie likes his bulb and how his appetite is. Very thoughtful follow-up.

It's a new day for Willie! We are both happy with the new set-up in his cage. He's 10-12" from his Mega-Ray Bulb. If he would just lay flat it would be easy, but NO, he feels so good under his new bulb, he's doing a lot of posturing..strikes his princely pose often and for long times. His rays are coming to him at 224-274 which is a thrill. He had a HUGE poop in his bath today. S'been a long time since he did anything that big and soft! YAY. And wow, did he pass gas!! That's A first!! Twice, no less. The sound reverberated loudly around his bath tub. I was shocked and laughed my head off. Willie cocked his head at me, while I was laughing, with his innocent, quizzical little face, having no idea what was so funny.hahaha he is so cute.

I see a lot of reflection on the inside of the glass. Are you sure your ig isn't seeing it's own reflection with the new light setup?

Hi Veronica, I took this pic of Willie before he started on NutriBac and before I set up his Mega-Ray bulb. I've been worried because he looks kinda scrawny to me and I'm hoping to get some good before-and- after pics of him. His doc isn't worried, but I am. I see the reflections you're speaking of. I'll check it all out tomorrow. Thanks!

I think you ARE worrying to much on his "scrawniness"...lol. I don't see him as being scrawny at all. He's gorgeous. And his tail is nice and chunky. It will get chunkier with th Nutri-Bac when he puts more weight on, but this is FAR from a skinny ig... ;D Need to get Zair some Nutri-Bac. He is NOT digesting his food like he should be. I hate seeing undigested peices in his poop...

I am SO glad you don't see Willie as scrawny. whew! I checked this morning for reflections and you were correct. There are several. He doesn't seem to need to 'posture' any more, though. I think he caught on to what he was seeing.
I wouldn't want to see undigested food either and I really think the NutriBac will help. Good luck with it.
