My UVB lamps are out. I need to get some more...hopefully can get them on this paycheck or the next. Anyway...I am still living at home until the end of the summer, and the only way for me to order things with any kind of quickness is the internet, but my mom doesn't want me using the credit card she gave me for very much, and apparently reptile lamps fall into the "too much" category. My final thought is that I can get my pet store guy to get me some lamps when he goes to buy more lizards/supplies from wherever it is he goes.
But here's the problem, I have to convince him that I need something other than what he's got in the store. His stuff is full-spectrum. I need some UVB. Could any of you give me some hints of what to say to him to let him know the difference, and the advantages/disadvantages of each.
If you could, explain it in a way that I could almost print out and hand to him...because I'll be pretty much spouting it off to him word for word. Thank you so much for your time.

Two other options than go through the pet store guy:
1) see if a site will take a mail in check or checking account number -- if so send a check of money order -- I think you can put money into a paypal account this way... most large places will do this
2) Talk to your bank about a once time use credit card. There may be a few dollar charge but most banks can give you a one time use credit card -- like a gift card to anywhere that takes Visa or MC.

www.reptileUV.com will take a check. Just call the phone number and set up the payment.

You can also tell the "pet shop guy" that THIS is what you want, You aren't interested in taking just whatever they want to give you and and if they won't get get what you want then you will be taking your money elsewhere! I have never had a shop refuse to get anything I asked for. If they did it would be the last time they saw me. They might ask for a deposit but that is just insurance that you will actually come back and get the item.
