Either a 4' Reptisun 5.0 or the Mega Ray EB will work for a 55 gal. How big is your ig?

Read the care section of this forum. There is excellent advice on foods, lighting, temps, etc. You need to place the UVB light so that when your baby basks his back sits no more than 8"-10" away from the center of the UVB tube. This is the area that emits the highest concentration of UVB. Set the basking light up so that it points to the center of the tube. The 4' Flourescent will do nicely. You will need this size anyway so you have it for the next enclosure you will be finished building by the end of his first year... ;D.

I suggest you limit the carrots and get rid of the cabbage and lettuce. Please check out the food list on this site. 'The juve food also should be limited and if used at all should be soaked. You should be feeding him mostly collards, mustard greens, turnip greens, dandelion greens. Then about 20% should be things like parsnips, green beans, and winter squash. And maybe about 10% at most can be fruit like mango, papaya, cactus, peaches ect... Again check the food list here for a more complete list. The best diet is one of fresh and varied foods from the list.

Your ig has a good chunky tail on it. How far are the lights? The closer you can get them the better. I have Zair's tubes set about 4" away from him. The MR EB is about 18" away.
Get rid of the moss in the aquarium. Not only can this cause impaction which can...and does...lead to death, but the moisture trapped in it will generate bacterial problems as well as fungal. Newspaper is a good choice. I use it in all of my cages. Just roll it up and throw it out.
If you follow the diet guide here...you won't need the juvie food...and most commercial foods are crap anyway.

V is right. The moss needs to go,...now! No matter what the packaging or the pet store people tell you there is NO particulate substrate that is safe for iguanas. They taste EVERYTHING!

Looks a bit dehydrated too!
Work on getting some more fluid into him by way of very wet greens and misting frequently.
