Do injured spikes on an Ig's back grow back?

Often times they do. Zair has several that are showing signs of some regeneration. I just don't know how far they complete the growth.

I think that it depends on how far down they were broken as well as the age of the iguana. Younger Igs regenerate faster than older ones. If you look at photos of iguanas in the wild they almost all have some broken ones.

Both Baby and Dragon have the spikes around their necks permanently missing due to me taking them on walks on leashes. I was lucky they never got infected. They broke off and I guess the regular use of the leashes prevented them from growing back. I don't use leashes on them any more but the damage is done. I now do not need to use a leash with them. I just put them down and let them walk.

Please note: While this works for Marie and her igs, it is NOT recommended! An ig will bolt if it gets startled, and you may or may not be able to recover it. I-Z staff recommends that you have your iguana on a harness of some sort if you have it out in public.

That is very true. With Huff, my 18 month male, I do use a harness.
I've had Baby and Dragon over 9 years though and they don't get startled as easily as when they were younger. Baby would probably try to run up my leg if something startled her and Dragon with her deformities can't go very fast.
