i received this as a PM from b73632 (I think they PM'd me by accident and meant to post to the board):
'I am taking or iguana to the vet tommorow for a swelled rectum. It looks as though there might be some blood on her heat rock also. The rock is ok never has it given her a burn and she has never benn sick befor what could be going on with her? Do you have any idea?'
I didn't know how to turn a PM into a post, so i hope it's ok to handle like this.

I just PMd b73632, but I'll post my reply here too since it sounds like an urgent situation.
=================================
Hi,
I just read the message you tried to post to the message board. At this time of year, its possible your iguana may be having trouble laying her eggs. When was the last time she ate? Females typically stop eating for 2 to 3 weeks during the final stages leading up to laying their eggs. In any case, you should take her to a vet immediately. Please get back to me and let me know when she ate last.
Thanks,
Sean
P.S. Even though her hot rock has not burned her yet, you REALLY need to get rid of the hot rock. When it fails, it WILL end up burning her, so a no-contact above-cage heating method is really the best.

Yikes!! This doesn't sound good at all! IK makes a good guess, but we certainly can't make diagnosis here..... Please update us when you return from the vet visit. (Diane....perfect......thankyou I'm going to send her a PM with a link to this thread just in case she misses it.)
