Hi everybody!!!
I just wanted to share the good news that the scab that had been trapped beneath the surface of Audrey's arm wound is finally gone. WOOHOO!!! ;D She has a little scar there now, but she is FINALLY back to fully using her poor little arm. I had closed her wound and it continued to bleed under her skin for a little while, so she had a lump there which is finally gone. I'm so HAPPY!!! ;D

Thanks Marie! ;D I was just dealing with her new-found mobility...fortunately, I usually only drink water, so the spill she created will just evaporate. She's currently sitting on my pillow, looking at me, and probably thinking about her next adventure.

Curious how old is she? My over 11 year old females just lie around being lounge lizards and don't get into too much trouble. I miss when they were younger. Don't know how Huff who is right under 2 is going to be yet.

Not sure exactly. But I estimate her age to be between 4 and 5. Mercury was close to 6 when she died of a concussion. She was every bit as adventurous as Audrey. Fortunately, Audrey has never sent me to the ER like Mercury did once. I STILL love Mercury and miss her though, the ugly finger de-gloving incident was her last act of pent-up anger toward me, she loved me unconditionally after that. I discovered one day, while being distracted during hand-feeding of Audrey...that she actually stops chewing on her food and waits for me to move my hand before continuing to eat the food I am holding. I guess its true what the CoRHS director said about her, she's so gentle I could even put my finger in her mouth. She told me not to try that though, because Audrey CAN control her biting, just not the sharpness of her little shark-like teeth.

Mercury was close to 6 when she died of a concussion. I STILL love Mercury and miss her though, ... Sorry for Mercury. She sounds like she was great once she was able to get rid of her anger. I know how hard it is to lose a dear pet and friend. I still love and miss Lady (died about 7 years ago) and Sampson (died 2 years ago) a lot. Again I am glad that Audrey is doing so well. Hope her adventures don't cause any more injuries. Marie

Thanks for the kind words Diane and Marie. ;D Mercury was angry with me for many years after I accidentally pulled part of her tail off. She even seemed to get a "My God!!! What have I done?!!!" look on her face after she bit me. After that...we were inseperable...everywhere I went, she had to be. She even seemed to have better judgment of character than I did about my former fiancee'. She pooped on my computer monitor while I was chatting on-line with my ex who was away on business. I realize it might be silly, but I think Mercury was jealous and SHE saw the evil that I had been blinded to. Oh...believe me...I don't take my advice from a lizard, this woman DID turn out to be a horrible person. The "monitor incident" is one of my fondest memories of Mercury. ;D
