Finally, Iggi is eating solid food again! I was getting so guilty squirting pureed turnip greens down her throat, sometimes having to pull open her mouth. Iggi is such a good girl, she will not bite or tail whip us, even when we are bugging her. All she would do is get up, and turn around, and lay back down the other direction. Sometimes she would lay her head down, as if she was saying "Now try to get my dewlap, Daddy!" Anyway, it looks like her appetite is returning. . . until next year!

We thought she was gravid, so we took her to our vet for Xrays, and a checkup. The Xrays revealed no eggs. A fecal float revealed parasites. The vet thinks it was the parasites that caused the loss of appetite. The vet prescribed Panacur, and we are throgh the second dosing of Panacur. The problem was, her appetite was not improving. This is why we are so happy that she is eating solid food on her own.

That's awesome news!! Glad to hear she's eating on her own again. The next time she does this (hopefully you won't ever need it) go to this website below and use the slurry here. It's much healthier than just the turnip greens...OR... I would try to use everything you normally give pereed. This way she still gets the needed nutrients... . www.iguanaden.com/health/slurry.htm
