Here's a link to GIS about multiple iguanas.... www.greenigsociety.org/multipleigs.htmI don;t have a personal story that's sad, but When I first got Herbie, I was hoping to eventually house her and Thrasher together . I watched carefully for Thrasher's reaction whenever they were within sight of each other. Thrasher completely ignored Herbie which I thought was a good sign. The day came that I thought I'd try putting Herbie into the house with Thrasher......Thrasher was lightening fast as she attacked Herbie! Thank God I was prepared for trouble! I was able to keep Herbie from harm, but I know Thrasher would have killed her if I hadn't been there! I know of a few people who have been successful in housing females together. I've also heard many many stories of iguanas being housed together peacefully and then one day, without warning, the owner comes home to find one of the iguanas has killed the other.

www.iguanaden.com/housing/multipleigs.htm also. And have you noticed the signature in my tag? It is because I had to rehome my beloved female after becoming the victim of a very jealous in-season male...Zair. She's in a WONDERFUL home now, but I miss her terribly...

The trick is to have a big enough habitat where the Iguanas do not have to be right next to one another. My five all eat together with no problem. But the dominant male has to have his basking spot. As long as everybody lets him have it there is no problem. They CAN be housed together with the right set up. We have had NO injuries to our Iguanas. This is just my experience.
