On Saturday, Tiki took a flying leap from his wicker tower to the top of my plant terrarium ( 2 ft leap) and missed, smacking his right rear leg on the side of the terrarium before crashing to the ground. There was a big bruise across his shin, and he was not using his toes. Of course we went to the vet and had an Xray done...The vet thought he cracked the bone, but turns out she said his bone density looked "Pretty Darn Good!" no broken bones, which I am secretly proud of, but still some nerve damage, that we hope will correct itself in a few weeks...Right now he's on anti inflammatories, plus pain killers to speed up the process...I put a big log across the gap now, so he can climb over, instead of smacking his head next time! Now I have to duck to get into my closet, as the gap goes right across the door!!! *sighs* Poor guy, I feel so bad for him!

Igs just don't have a clue what they put us through...or maybe they do! It's a secret underground society where they plan they're next heart attack...
Bump the night temps up to about 80. This will also help speed the healing process right along.

Thanks Prism, I did bump up his night temps, he's doing better, using two of the five toes on that foot, and it looks as if he's not in as much pain anymore. He had one bad day, where you could almost see how much it was bothering him, but of course he can't sit still when he's hurting, so I just gave him pain meds and put his butt to bed. I have no doubt he'll get better quickly. You should see the big bruise across his shin! Ouch!

A very big question where do you get pain meds if you ig had an injury. Can you get them at PetCo...are they expensive?

You get pain meds from the vet. Even this is iffy in reptiles. Never get something from a pet store for pain when it comes to reptiles. This takes a special vet experienced in reptile care to prescribe this and fix the source of the pain.
