I came across this on Home and Garden TV, and went to the website to check it out. I think that every iguana (or any other pet) enclosure should have one of these. It claims to eleminate odors without chemicals, or electricity. Since it is a big disk of stainless steel, the ig can't swallow it. The website says it can be used with fountains, so I'm thinking all the humidifications systems could incorporate these. The website is www.frieling.com/smellkiller.htmI'm looking for a local store to sell one.

Ig_daddy, I don't have any odor from Willie or his humidifier. I wonder if I'm missing something.

Me neither. I notice a slight odor, when I come home, when one of my igs has pooped in the tub, but iguanas don't generally seem to be "stinky" creatures. ;D

The only "odor" I have is the hit of the relativly high humidity as I walik into the cage for the first time in a few hours.
Another way that I have used was make a small bag of light weight cotton cloth and fill it with a box of baking soda. You can hang it under a shelf or the like.
Why would a stainless disk elminate odor in any way? You will need to make some type of chemical reaction to eliminate molicules causing odor.

DOH!!! I missed that part. Something that removes odor molecules from the air WOULD, in fact, require some variety of chemical and/or electrical properties. Be careful of this one, ig-daddy...as they say," if something seems too good to be true, it probably is." Not saying its dangerous to Iggi, it just might be dangerous to your pocketbook while not actually doing anything.

Lamar? Have you had her checked for parasites lately? Odor can be a telltale sign of internal bugs......

I agree it sounds like "Snake Oil"! The claims it makes are a bit far fetched and don't make sense. If it is not a chemical reaction or a filter how could it do anything. Their claims seem contradictory! And the only testing they claim is from somewhere in Germany! In their information it says that it destroys tough odors but won't stop odors that you want like fresh baked bread or other food because it doesn't destroy odors immediately. This would follow that it would only work on odors that are old and not being renewed. With animal's odors they are constantly being renewed! I just don't buy it.
