Hi everyone! Well, I took Lenore outside for her very first walk! She was so curious about everything. She ate a dandelion flower while she was out too. She just loves those so much! She did really well for her first time out. A few times she stood up on her back legs and tried to run. Don't know if she was scared or just excited about being out to walk. She didn't seem scared though. The kind of leash I use for Lenore is kind of like a little soft leather vest with the leash attatched. It has 2 open holes in it for her front arms to go through, and I put it on her like you would put a shirt on backwards. Then it has a little round thingy on it that you use to tighten and loosen the leash. It works really well and there is no way for her to escape from it. She seemed quite comfortable with it on, except twice she scratched it like it was in her way and she wanted it gone. But other than that she did good. It's odd though, that when she is on the leash I can reach right down and pick her up and she doesn't put up a fight like she does when she is in her house.
Well I just wanted to share this with you all and let you know how good Lenore was on her first walk. ;D

When she is outside she is on different territory thus will act differently this is why you are able to easily scoop her up.
Bob is the direct opposite. When inside or in his cage I am able to walk right up to him and he does not care. Take him outside into the backyard and he becomes aggressive and territorial. But if I pick him up and start walking around outer yuppieville (or anywhere outside of the yard) all he wants to do is sit on my shoulder, which he is getting too big for.

Karen! Don't let that little vest fool you! I started out thinking the same as you. There's no way she can get out of it...but Thrasher proved me wrong!! She managed to wiggle completely out on 2 different occasions!! That's why I started using the the leash that goes in the hind quarters. I've been using it now for nearly a year and haven't had any escapee problems.
