This is so obsurd!!! What the heck is the difference. Some people like cats and dogs, some people like iguanas and other exotics? Why punish those who like a particular animal??? What happened to our freedom, and by the way--do they pay for the house, apt, condo, etc? No-we do, and we should have the right to have whatever we want (well-legal stuff i guess!) I can see maybe very dangerous like crocidiles and endangered animals, but even maybe they can have a permit or something. And then if it does go into place, what are they going to do with all of the ones already in place. They cant fit all of them into zoo's! They would have to put them down--and then how is that fair to them...they didn't do anything. Sorry, i guess im going off a little bit, but this is rediculous!!!!

Well it s stupid, but i wish someday selling and buying wild animals will be ilegal. I hope for that day. And the day, when adoptions board ll be empty. Hundred s of abanded little souls make me so sad Becouse of my love to my iggy, i wish she could live in the wild, hanging on the big tree. She is wild animal....after all.

I went to read the petition. The numbers provided directed me to a bill suggesting that the department of health administer a program to provide "the patch" to any smoker who wishes to quit smoking ....
Also: I don't think signatures from anyone living outside that legislative area would be valid.

Tesa... Im not sure what you mean about the number?...but if you click on the link...it does take you to the right petition mentioned. I could be completely misunderstanding your post too..?...
I signed the petition and I don't think that they even ask from what state you reside in, so they wouldn't even know if it was a factor.

I think Tesa might be on to something there. People signing this petition are most likely signing against something other than what it claims. Its probably more likely to be some means of passing a computer virus or collecting personal information such as e-mail addresses. If you go to the web-site address that the petition mentions, you will see that bill a7375 is for exactly what Tesa said it was, New York providing the patch to anyone who wants to quit smoking. The other bill that is referenced (both are referenced twice, so its not a typo, this person is deliberately deceiving people), bill s4755 is something dealing with the transportation of hazardous materials. If, while on that same site, you do keyword searches for both "reptiles" and "exotic animals" you will see nothing regarding banning the possession of either one. Sorry, but I think some of you have been had.
