Aw, I bet that rock gets nice and toastie for him! He a fine beast Hes got very neat spikes, almost looks liked combed hair!

His colouration is due to shedding. There is a layer of scales starting to turn grey before they drop across his back and head. The rocks get real toasty, rather hot actually, but each time I move him off of them he returns to them, even when he shows signs of over heating. I have moved him to other shaded areas of the lawn, to the other side of the house, into a small pool set up for him, and a tree; within 5 minutes of being placed in each he was back in the sun on the rocks. I had to resort to running a hose over him and the rock every few minutes to cool them down -- this is why I started the Feeling Temps thread.
