Hi Folks, we're back from the White Plains Show, feet and legs a bit sore from spending 7 hours on our feet while holding wiggly Iguanas. LOL I took some pics of the IIS booth where Taqmmy and I helped out. AJ & Carole brought 12 Iguanas in for adoption. We're glad to say that there were none left at the end of the day! That's a LOT og Iguana talking, teaching and handling! LOL Here are some pics of the show booth. I hope you enjoy them. Here's our group of volunteers: Allow me to introduce you. From the left, AJ Gutman, Secretary for the IIS and Iguana rescue operator; Carole Saucier, Iguana afficiondado; unknown guest, unknown guest, Jane (Jiffypop), Mid-Michigan Reptile Rescue; My wife, Tammy, and me. We were up to our elbows in Iguanas at the start: A female waiting for a good home. A female, hanging out and catching some shut eye, or perhaps wishing everyone would just leave. Tammy with a Cyclura: Camenensis x Lewisi, a personal pet of AJ's. Here's a close-up of the rare beauty. Me and Cylura c.x l., Gershwin. He was such a doll. Me and a female. Jane and a little female. Tammy, workin' it with AJ. The booth was busy all day! Some folks I bumped into. Allow me again, from left to right: Denise (neenee), me and Patrick (Patrick7564) It was a great day and we ended up coming home with no live creatures! You know how hard that is to do? ;D

Oh wow that looks like a great event, wish we had over here in the UK! Some good looking igs there, I like the pic of the little female with her eyes closed, shes cute! ;D Are the igs all well behaved together? When Don sees his reflection he goes mad, dont the males try and fight? Ive seen a male and three females together and he just walked all over them, literally, and they werent bothered by eachother. But Ive never seen so many igs in the same room in real life!

Hi Kerry- Well, it's kind of a sad thing to have so many unwanted Igs together. Fact is, they are so completely stressed by the activity and being cooler than they should be, that they aren't up for displays or aggression. Like I said, very sad indeed.

It was also really sad to see the condition of some of these animals. It was hard to not bring them all home. Shame on folks for treating animals so badly.
