Wow!! That looks great!! It's great how a bird cage can work as an ig cage with the right amount of tweaking. If it was me I would try to close it off a little more, even, but that looks better than it did for sure... ;D.
A suggestion on the food size...cut it even smaller (smaller then it's head) and add a little more variety. The smaller pieces will make it easier to fit in the mouth - and to digest.
Very healthy little ig. I think you chose what looks like a very healthy ig - and quick to adjust if it's eating already. You have a keeper... ;D.

I'm just thinking about the humidity levels yet. the bottom portion of the enclosure is still pretty opened, but if you have a humidity gauge to monitor that part, too then the bottom portion maybe ok...but a lot of moisture may be lost if left open depending on any drafts or vents and just the plain old winter air in general.

Ok was kinda thinkin that also....I just bought a small Vicks warm mist humidifier....
I cant remember if this was the site but someone built something over there humidifier so the mist got out, but the IG couldnt get burned sitting on it...
And yes i'm going to enclose the entire cage this week also....

I put one of those fake rocks that you can get at Menards over mine. We drilled a ton of holes in it and she loves hanging on it. :0)

Z1bigtom, Yes I do post on another forum. I am the one on that forum that sent you here :0) As for your humidifier did you try to add a little salt to the water and make sure it is all dissoved, then plug it in again and see if that helps it get started. The manufacturer recommends this if it is a slow start. Don't add to much though cause it can get to boiling in there and then it spits the water out the hole at a rapid rate, trust me I found out the hard way. As for the enclosure:: Here ya go. This is my adults cage, am still working on my babies. And here is one of the rock with the humidifier under it. It is amazing on how much you learn that you need to change after getting them in there and dealing with things. Uni's cage will be a lot diffrent than this one.

I saw one of these false rocks in Lowe's yesterday and had it priced at about $100 with tax. Something for later - but for now the wire "pet" cage will have to do...:-) It's a small "well" cover...though I've never seen a well housing that small before. It was back in the part of the store that has well houses, though.
