Very nice!! I like how that enclosure turned out! Nice and roomy. Are you able to keep up the humidity ok in there?

I call it the Swedish Iguana cage as most of it is made out of old IKEA funriture lol ! He is about 2and ahalf years old now and 3feet long, I got him as a rescue. when I got him he was in a 175gal flexatrerrium with only 1 log that took up most of his room. The cage is only a temp one as I wanted to make him something fast but it got to cold to make the nice one( was -40 here the other day). The top shelf stays pretty warm 95-105 depending how i addjust the heat in the house and if I leave the door for the room closed. The shelf with the water fall stays around 85-90. Not bad for having mesh doors that size, even the humidity stays around 80%. He seems to like it alot and has only gotten out twice. He loves the water bath on the bottom and with her "going" in there instead of all over the cage, the rest of the cage stays pretty clean. It's 6.5x7x3' way better then what she...... He was in!

You haven't mentioned the humidity levels, though. This kind of open-air enclosure is notorious for NOT allowing for very high humidity levels.
You may want to keep a little closer look on the temps. 96 should be your highest reading. 105 for 15-20 minutes can result in permanent brain damage. O.o It sounds like in your situation a rheostat of some kind would come in real handy. This can regulate the temps when they fluctuate so much.

Sorry to point this out but I did mention it at 80%. With this weather we are having the temp of the basking shelf says about 94 allday. Thats mostly due to the open air concept. The humittity says around 80% mostly due to the water fall in the cage that he just loves and a large water bath 2x3 at the bottom. Also having my water dragons in the same room with the running water helps out a great deal.

OH! You most certainly did!! I apologize! I'm trying to think and be horribly sick at the same time! It's my only excuse I'm afraid. I bet he does love the large pool! I had a full-size garden waterfall in my enclosure - but it was SO hard to clean around. Now that I'm back to newspaper instead of sheets of astrotruf - I may try it again.

Hey...Welcome to IZ...I'm glad you decided to join. I'm prophetess911 from reptiles canada in case you're wondering. "he" looks about big enough to be sexed now if you can get pictures of "his" underside femoral pores and post it in the gender section. We'd be able to take a poll! The more femoral pores the maler he is the less the more female she is. Also, if you can see any type of bulge at the base of the tail, you've got a little man. Judging from the pics though, I'm edging towards female, just because of the head though so I could be very wrong. Anyways, hope you enjoy your stay here, we've got a great bunch of people.
