this little girl is a rescue, she was suffering in a 20g tank when finaly someone gave her up to the local humane center... a friend of mine takes rescues all the time and provides temporary homes till real homes can be established. I'm always picking up little rescues here and there, I instantly fell in love when I met this one!
she has no name yet, and I've visited her twice. Her enclosure will be finished this weekend and then I'm bringing her home! I'm very excited, miss her already she's missing the tip of her tail and she can be a little skittish but for the most part she just hangs out on my head/shoulder/back... wherever! I'm new here, just wanted to share! let me know what you think of her, I think she's gorgeous!
OF COURSE she's GORGEOUS!! For being stuck in a 20 gal she looks reasonably healthy. I'm sure she'll appreciate the room! A couple of words of advice...
*Don't let her on your back with that kind of long hair. Igs flick-lick as you probably know. If she gets even one strand down this can easily tangle in the intestines causing tissue necrosis.
*Letting her on your head, period...is asking for serious injury on your part. There have been cases of permanent injury from igs who lost their footing or got startled and those sharp claws tried to grab a hold of whatever they could reach.
I'm sure she'll have a WONDERFUL home with you. I can't wait to see the final set-up with her in it! Make sure the lights are on the outside (or screen guards inside), it will fit though doorways and around corners, and casters are wonderful moving aids!
Welcome to the forum!!
