its been entirely to long since I wandered through here. For those of you that remember me, Spike is doing amazingly well, even managed to break out of his 12x5x4' cage, and cower all the cats in to the bath room (which he hates, because that means bath time). Fortunetly all the dogs were outside at the time.
So, my question. I started growing alot of Spikes leafy foods, and on a whim and because I have alot I tossed a couple pots of collards and beats in there.
\I love watching him tear them apart, most likley more than he love eating them.
So what I am looking for is ideas/a clue what I could use for 'treat' foods, preferably that I can grow in the pacific northwest easily (slingshot distance from canada) I have a garden full of collards, beats, turnips, and a couple other things I have now forgotten (they were on the list when I planed them), but what I am looking for is a easy grow item that I can have a couple dozen large pots for him to just tear through.
I was thinking various mints (of which I have lots), and I have heard that (all?) ferns are safe.. I can't seem to stop growing those in my carnivourous plant area.
Any other rapid growing plants that I could just rotate a few dozen pots out to give spike something to shreadf year round?
and of course... the token pic.
for those who don't remember my last visit, keep in mind this poor old guy couldn't move his back legs and had never climbed anything a year ago, not to mention he was solid gray and bent, the vet didn't think he would survive a month. LOL... he was also about 1/2 the size...
