I didn't really take a good look at the calcium powder that my husband bought and now that I am reading it contains a D3 minimum of 400,000 IU/ KG. I know that vitamin d is a big no no but I am wondering why is it in there then?? I am really upset at myself for not checking the label especially because it is opened now and was very costly. I am not to worried about my Ig because we have only used it for the last week.
Does anyone know where I can find the best vitamins for the lowest prices I am more and more loosing faith in my exotic pet store is'nt this something that they should have pointed out to him???

Dont ever rely on petstore advice its just not accurate. I use Jurassi-cal. Its all in reading the labels I know there are others I just cant think of the brands off hand. Jurassi-cal is rather cheap.

Thank you I am not a new iguana owner which is what is worse I should have read all the labels before hand. I just couldn't believe that they didn't even try to talk to my husband about it. I thought that being an exotic pet store that knowledge of said pets would be part of the application requirements but I am thinking not.....

Some reptiles do require Vit D in their supplement, just not iguanas. I use the RepCal Supplements. Look around at online suppliers and you can generally find things that are considerabley cheaper than at the stores.

The only reason I am surprised they didn't catch it was because my husband had actually purchased the iguana there (that day). I did find something on the internet thanks guys. I have been out of the herp field for a while and the usual store that I knew everyone at has since went out of business so the internet it is! I am not really sure how I feel about the store that we got fury in they seem knowledgeable but maybe there just aren't enough people working at one time. Also if you ask them even a simple question they kind of treat you like a moron...I hope I am not driving you guys crazy yet!

In my experience most of the people who behave that way do so for a simple reason,...they don't have a clue themselves and don't want to admit it. A good store would be more than willing to help with the simplest questions. We ALL started somewhere!

Yes we did lol and I started out on pet store advice, thankfully I did some googling and found out I was not doing things right and that is how I ended up here. I had the standard set up. 10 gallon tank, heat rock, small branch, a hamock, repti-carpet, bag of crickets, bag of mixed veggies carrots, broccoli and cualiflower.

The calcium got here in the mail finally! Yeah!!! I must admit though I talked to another employee on the phone today (asking if he wanted to take a rescue I had) and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. I guess I just need to have faith!
