Hello and welcome. Pardon my asking, but is your friend an idiot? This is not something to even consider.

Unfortunately I used to know a family that thought it was fun to blow smoke in the cages and feed them bud. Both of their Igs died after living in that condition for a short time. If you want your Ig to gain weight check the threads in this section. There are plenty of good mix's to give them. Make sure you have plenty of UVB and make sure the iguana isn't stressed out or else that will impact the appetite.

Marijuana is toxic to Iguanas whether fed to them or blown in their faces. Do not take your friends advice it is incorrect and deadly to your Ig. A balanced diet is what your Ig needs. Read through our diet section for salad ideas.

I am thinking that the weed might be the whole problem to begin with.. Doing the weed.. Asking the questions.. Just kind of disturbs me to think that someone would ask this kind of question about this .. Weed makes you goofy... And you are suppose to be the superior human.. Why would anyone submit their reptile to that... Make you feel more superior.. Ohh!! my ohh my ohh my.. Don't get me wrong here!! I am an OLD HIPPIE girl from way back when.. But don't put that thought in front of the real thing!!

well i would never do that or feed that to my Iggie anyway.. it was a topic i started just to get people opinion and have something to look forward to read when I'm on here. if some of you'll notice. i will time to time post a really outrageous question just to have responses and read all about it.. as for my iguana weight issue everything is all good now it is pigging out like it use to.. only thing i did was to let it out the cage more offend. the trick was to try and find it's comfort spot and i found that he love it on the window seal. in the afternoon when the sun is at it's highest ill let it out on the window seal and spray it its warm water. and leave it there till it start to get alil cold out side. i came to find out my Iggie was just stressed cause it wanted to be out of its cage more often. as for the weed thing I'm with toad on what he said lol keep the weed for yourself and get a good diet for the iguana

Anonymous, go elsewhere...this is not your site. Please, NEVER own ANY animal if you can't handle them as they are without drugging them. Does that cover it?

Hello Anonymous. That is one sad story... it seems like crazy things like that happen way too often with exotic animals. I hate hearing about them but I guess it's a good reminder. Every once in awhile I come across a story like this and it gives me the chills. I'm glad you don't do that anymore and I'm glad you have learned how terrible it is. I hope Koolaid lives a long and healthy life never having to be exposed to such things.
