Hi, my adult male ig is about 8 years old and we have noticed a lump on his side. Its about the size of a petis pois! Is this normal for an of his age or is this something more worrying? Didnt wanna have to get him out of his tank and drive him to the vets if its just a wart because it would be a lot of stress for him, he likes his huge vivarium and rarely chooses to come out now hes older! Thanks Kerry

when i look at this i think of "Abscesses". One of the most common health problems that iguana owners may face is the formation of an abscess. Abscesses are simply areas of swelling at the site of an infection. Chill dont dont worrie, take the Iguana to the vet. To get down and dirty they will cut or bust the infected area to drain the pus. The prescription the Vet gives will be to clear any infections that may still be in the body of your iguana. The Vet will tell you to clean out the wound with diluted betadine.

Ok, cheers, will try and find a vet with exotics experience, last time I took him about 5 years ago with vomiting they said he is gonna die, feed him yoghurt lol. Hmmm dairy products a cure for reptile vomiting.... no. At least I will have some info for them and wont be going in completely blind. Thanks for your reply
