Question for you. What is the easiest way to clip their nails. I did Turbo's today but it's hard to get the small ones. If they had thumbs that would be the one I can't get to

Dog clippers. I bought clippers for iguanas long ago but I have never used them. I usually wrap her up in a towel and have someone else holder her while I clip her nails.

Thank you. Ya I have those kind of clippers. I did make him bleed on accident today. I felt horrible.

Your ig is amazing and I thought she was a lot younger than 14 or 15! Question is she spayed? Also has been your experience that it is beneficial to have a female iguana spayed to do the injuries to the possible injuries and complications of egg bearing?

Gwendolyn isn't spayed but from what I have heard from others it is probably best not to spay an iguana because of possible complications from surgery. A lot of vets don't specialize in iguanas/reptiles and I know, at least in the past, people have had various issues with vets. I can only recall one instance right now just off the top of my head where a vet prescribed some sort of medication or antibiotic with out weighing the iguana and the owner got a second opinion before giving any of it to his iguana and the previous vet had prescribed too much. My own preference is to not spay but with a good vet, its really up to you. Also, as a side note, if you do spay there is a good likely hood that your female with start showing more male traits (like the jowls becoming larger or more seasonal grouchiness).
