We have had some bad weather here in Washington and I was reminded its always important to have a plan if something happens (like the power going out). We usually have long lasting heat packs around the house in case the power goes out but apparently we used the last one up the last time the power went out so we got a good fire going and sat with her by the wood stove until someone was able to go to town to get some more heat packs. Our power was out for three days so that wood stove and those heat packs were vital! Always remember to have a plan -Jenna ;D

Where did you put the heat packs at? Under or around where your iguana lives? Just curious to where. I'm going to pick some up today now that you mentioned that. It's always good to have a back up plan.

We kept Gwen in her travel tub next to the wood stove when no one was holding her and we put the heat packs in pillow cases (making sure they were not too hot) and put them under her. Some heat packs get Very hot so I let them fully heat up and put multiple pillowcase layers between the pack and Gwen as needed. It was way too cold in my room (where her enclosure is) so as long as the power was out she didn't leave the vicinity of the living room.

I don't know what I would do without those heat packs!
