Hello everyone. My name is Chryssee and my beautiful girl's. Ame is Manasa. I am so happy to have found this forum! I am a regular on the Green Ig Society, but it's sure nice to be able to talk to other Ig lovers. I got my first Ig, Zen, when I was 14, so I do know quite a bit about the care and dedication of owning one of these magnificent creatures. But this my first experience with a female Ig.
Manasa is 18 months old and has gone through her first cycle. I did my research and set her up with a nesting box and everything else that was recommended. I could clearly see and palpitate her eggs starting mid December. She should have laid her eggs by end of last month, but there have been NO eggs. She lost her appetite back in January, but as of the last 4 weeks it has come back with a vengeance. (which I am very happy to see) But about a week ago I noticed she was getting thinner in the abdomen. Then the next day I couldn't feel any eggs! I thought, "yes, she has finally laid her eggs!!" but I found nothing in her enclosure. (she was not allowed to free roam at the end, as I was concerned she would lay them where she shouldn't!) anyway, she seemed a bit tired, almost lethargic, so I gave her extra TLC and her favorite fruit, etc. now she is back to her sweet, lively self and her abdomen is bad to normal size. I have read that some Igs will re-absorb heir eggs, but has anyone else ever experienced this? The only thing I can find about this says that there may be some complications if this happens, but it didn't elaborate. She seems perfectly fine, but I am a little worried since I've never delt with this before. Please, if anyone has any advise or words of wisdom, I would greatly appreciate it!! I will post pictures of her shortly. Thanks!!
(BTW, sorry I tend to write a book when I talk about my girl!! Lol)
