So I'm new on here and figured I'd introduce myself. I've got a love (more of an obsession really...) of iguanas and I've started a little collection. I currently have a 2 year old red iguana (affectionately named red, clever right?) and recently got myself a baby Cuban rock iguana (Steve). Until about 2 months ago i also had a 5 foot long male green iguana that unfortunately passed away due to cancer. And now the first question for you guys... I did alot of research before getting Steve and everything i read says that the care is essentially the same as a green iguana (such as feeding, humidity, ect..), but i was unable to find very much on an enclosure setup. any tips, hints, ideas? I'm open to suggestions. thanks in advance

Welcome I don't know much about Cuban rock iguanas but I'm sure their housing requirements are the same for them as it is for Green Iguanas. I just did a quick bit of research on them and they do seem quite similar other than the site I read from said Cuban rock iguanas can have a small amount of animal protein were as Green Iguanas cannot. On a different website I read they should be fed a vegetarian diet. Oh, inconsistencies. That's pretty cool that your red iguana actually has stayed red that long; the color usually fades to a more greenish color. You're a lucky one you are Thanks for posting! -Jenna
