Hi Jlynn-
A good Ig owner never stops learning. Even folks who have had them for 10 years still learn and adapt care issues based on learning. Every Ig is different, and until we teach them to speak it's all a guessing game.
If the Ig lays eggs, it's certainly a female. LOL The responsible thing to do is freeze them for a day them discard them. Too many Igs in this country as it is.
Females will still lay eggs without a male present, obviously infertile, but still freeze them.
Males will enter heat once a year. But in Rex's case we don't even notice his heats. Females will go gravid once a year and it requires a vet check each time to insure no burst eggs or other "female" problems.
Igs will enter heat after their first year. Could be later depending on development.
Read up on gravid Igs and keep an eye out for the behaviors.
Good luck.

A Google search will bring you up a wealth of info.
"gravid iguanas" "male breeding season"
With females they can lay their first eggs when their svl is about 10" if their care was at least minimally good.
Males go into it at about 1 1/2 to 2 yrs old.

The hemipenal bulges are not noticable, but the femoral pores look very young man to me. They look the same as Taji's in the Gender Issues forum.
Young lady...he's a he in my opinion... ;D

Jen...I have to agree with Veronica. Ya can't trust ME on this though. At times, I still question Thrasher's gender.

Hi Jlynn-
My guess is a male. Female pores are practically non-existent.

Jen....here's a pic of Thrashers "girl" femoral pores. She looks dirty but I swear she's not! also....Note the scarring on the bottom of her hind foot from a heat rock the previous owners had

I agree, Male. Zok had her first egg laying when she was about 2 years old. If she has never been with a male just toss the eggs out.
