Hi, Me and my iguana Spanky just moved from Detroit, Michigan to Brookline Mass. And with that move, Spanky got a new cage. (heat, humidity, light, etc. is all at good levels)
I have been trying to get things back to the same schedule, talking, feeding, bathing, him. He seems to be dealing with ok. But I can definitly tell his attitude has changed. He has been eating which is good, but He gets puffy when I go into his space, and is really wiley when I try and handle him.
I understand that things take time, and they do get upset with change. I am just unsure if I should just go through the day like I usually do, or if I should give him some space, or reacclimate him. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jess and Spanky

Unfortunately there is no definate answer. Opinions vary on how to handle a "relocated" ig. Personally, I would continue to handle him as always. I feel like if they are left alone it only delays the whole process. Let us know how things go for you and Spanky. Good to see you back here!

I'm with Tesa here.
So much has changed in his life right now. the reaction seems to be in line with territorial behavior. I wouldn't change me handling habits too. He needs that to anchor him to the new place while he works out a new territory.
Good luck, let us know how he progresses.

well, its been one week and things have gotten a little better. When I go into his cage, spanky still seems upset, but if i go in with a towel it helps calm him down, and it gives him something to bite on just in case. I take him out at least once a day, and he is like his old nice self again. I continue be patient because I know it going to take time to adjust for the both of us. Thank you for the advice...things look like they are at least on the right path.

Glad to hear things are going well with Spanky. How is the HUMAN adjusting to the move?
