Thrasher has been being a complete witch the last couple of weeks. Doesn't matter how sweet I treat her, she just wants to be left alone. I make her come out of her cage and be social with me anyway, but there's a battle every time. Yesterday she did something I've never heard of before. I was getting her out of the cage when the battled ensued.....she started squirming and thrashing around..(hence her name). She was PO'd in a big way! She looked me right in the face and made this weird guttural clicking kind of sound Has anyone else heard this? It was freaky!

Tesa,
I have heard both Bailey and Mary make this gutteral clicking sound. So far as I can tell, this is a majorly pissed off sound and often is used as a last ditch warning before biting ensues.

The most noise I've gotten Orko to make has been a wheeze. Which he does when I try to put him in the tub and sometimes when I want to take him out of the cage. Which I translate into an impatient mildly annoyed sigh. I hope I never had to hear that clicking noise.

Was this like a quick "K" (as in cat) sound or something else? If Gil's annoyed, he'll go "K... K...K," but I'm not sure I'd describe it as gutteral.

I've had her make little K noises at me before...this was different.....or maybe the same but intensified by 50 or so. lol I can't think of a way to describe it. .......it sounded like there was a little drummer inside her hitting his drumsticks together, and the sound was kinda echoing out...... **sigh** This is impossible ....

Yes, quite often! We give Iggi a warm bath EVERY morning. Some days she does not want a bath, and will stand still in the bathwater, and make a sound like you describe. Her dewlap will go up also, when she makes this sound. Iggi is saying "NO!" to us, and I bet that Thrasher is doing the same thing, too. Does Thasher bite? Iggi has NEVER bit us.

Narcy just made a clicking noise at me tonight! I have been 're-training ' him since his breeding season aggression left him thinking he can get away with this behaviour al l l l l l l l the time, and when i had him on my lap tonight he made a quiet clicking noise when i was rubbing his jowls. This actually sounded rather content though and he wasn't fighting me at the time. The only other noise he has ever made was the other night when i tried misting him for the first time ( ! ) and he raised up on front legs and let out a kind of vocalized 'huh' exhale. But the clicking he made tonight didn't seem angry. . .

I have heard Evan make a clicking sound several times, but it wasn't because she was mad at anything. I thought it was a pretty cool sound. I would hear it and look ...there she was just hanging out in her basking spot acting like normal. I thought she was just talking even though everything that I have read says they don't make sounds. I never did believe that.

Miss Zak makes the kkkk sound when i get her out. She seems like at first that she is anoyed...but after i hold her to my chest and talk to her and rub her jowls, she seems like she makes the noise in contentment.
Iggy on the other hand when he makes the noise he is usually telling us to leave him alone, but as the story goes, we never do.
i don't think that I have ever heard Bam-Bam make any sound........except for passing gas! lol
Debbie iggy Bam-Bam and Miss Zak.

Iguanaboi...It sounds as if your ig was purring... . They can and do. Zair has prrued for me twice in his life. Another well-known ig person can get his igs to purr on command...so he states...lol. Would love for Zair to do that on command!

Don sometimes makes clicking noises, it sounds like hes changing the pressure in his mouth some how. He does it when I stroke him sometimes and hes in a mood, so I leave him alone. Ive learnt from his last breeding season that he doesnt like giving too much warning before he strikes, that spoils the fun!! Purring?!?!! Oh I want Don to pur that must be so cute! Sometimes I wish igs could make noise, then he wouldnt creep up on me so much!! But then I hear the neighbours dog whining all day and think, no I like my silent pets, ig, snake and fish lol!
