Kyo has been acting "strange" too. Much more agressive/defensive than normal. To the point where I am almost afraid to bend down in his enclosure because I might get jumped on! And he hissed at me the other day (I hissed back). We used to get the side, puffed up "hatchet" mode. Now he will face us head on! And we are having to throw a towel over him to pick him up.
Today he was out, laying on the computer. I went to pick him up, and he really lashed his tail at me! Reflexes kicked in, and I smacked my fingers down on the edge of the monitor as I said "NO!" Boy, he jumped and looked at me with these wide eyes, and I swear, if his lower lip could quiver, it would have. I think that was probably the first time that I have had to assert myself with him.
Is this the terrible twos? That's what it reminds me of, lol.

It could be! Sounds like he is trying to get his bluff in on you and see what he can get away with. That doesn't mean that he won't bite! Watch out when you are dealing with him but don't let him back you down.

Yeah, I HAVE been keeping a good eye on his mouth (errr, teeth, lol. With all the the stress gaping he was doing, I finally got to see them!). He hasn't yet attempted to bite, but there's a first time for everything. My husband is surprised that it hasn't happened yet

Well, it seems that in the past couple of days, he has gotten better. He is still feisty, but he has only whipped my husband ;D Yesterday we went on a tour of the house. Today, I woke up with a migraine, and really didn't feel like a long fight to pick him up, but I knew I had to. Went in with the towel, laid it on his shelf to put my gloves on, and he walked onto it! All by himself! What a sweetie!
