Are you sure that is a male? The face looks very female, and I don't see any protruding jowls or brain bumps. In fact I am almost positive that is a female and she looks pretty plump.

Tank is too small, so the sooner you build a larger one the better. The coconut bedding has to go, it's no good. Iguanas accidentally ingest loose bedding, and it will cause impaction and possibly be fatal. Temps, the basking spot needs to be around 95, the cooler side of the tank no less than 75. Leaving a light on for them at night is no good, it interferes with their sleep due to the parietial eye on the top of their head. If you can't keep the tank at around 70-75 at night you may have to invest in buying a CHE (ceramic heat emitter).

Cut the veggies up as small as you can without turning them to mush, also cut the greens up a bit smaller and mix thoroughly. It will be harder for him to pick through. 110 is too high for basking, you need to bring it down to 95-97 and make sure the cool side of the enclosure is no less than 75. They need to be able to cool off.

Sounds like you have some issues going on. Be very very careful on how much betadine solution you put into the water it should only be enough to make the water look like tea. Let the claws go until you get him to the vet if you are unsure. Chances are it is going to take time to get the nails (after many clippings) down to the length they should be. Pleas post a pic soon. Let us know how the vet visit goes.

I wouldn't worry about it then, more than likely it's already healed.

It looks like it may have been broken. Has the toe always been like this? How long have you had your Ig?

Hello welcome to IZ. Your baby is absolutely adorable. Sorry to hear that your last one managed to escape. The babies are excellent escape artists so beware.

This is more of an update really. While I was up stairs writing my last post my iggy was sneakily eating some pineapple! I wasn't positive, but pretty sure. Anyway, next day I put out the usual three plastic trays but I counted 10 different items[see,I've been trying to tempt him!] He ignored it most of the day, but mid afternoon I caught him eating a bit of mangy old leaf from yesterday! It was up the top end of his cadge were he was basking, his food was down the other end. so I moved the food, he still hissed at me [he's defiantly sulking] but, he eat every living thing! So, success, I guess he's back to normal and I'll just have to wait for the sulks to wear off, they are worse than kids! Pineapple is hard on Iguana bellies, as is most citric fruits. Some igs can eat it with no issues how ever others can't. You would be best sticking to apples, grapes, melons and berries.

so everything kind of worked out perfectly i found this woman who does reptile educational shows with snakes and various other lizards...her husband had been wanting an iguana for quite some time and had built a HUGE enclosure for one..i think it was like 8ft tall and 5ft wide or something of the sorts anywho she took yazhi and told me if and when my situation changes i can have him back (she also does fostering for a local organization that saves cats and kittens) so im hoping being in this apartment wont be too long and i can find something bigger because i miss yazhi alot...life just doesnt feel right without him I'm sorry you had to give him up, I hope things work out for you soon!
