I thought this would be fun. We all know we have iguanas...but how about all of the other animals you choose to share your home with?

I culture them for lizard food (NOT FOR THE IGUANA!) I'm getting ready to do this with the supers. I have one beetle and several in pupae! 1 iguana 1 common boa constrictor 1 western hognose 1 ball python 2 veiled chameleons 1 crested gecko 1 plated lizard 1 African gray 2 cockatiels 1 mourning dove 7 dogs (3 ours, 4 fosters) 2 gerbils 1 angel fish 500 more or less superworms 1500 (approximately) crickets 1 very patient hubby Many of the animals are under the rescues care for educational purposes so are long-term residents. The only ones truly our own are 3 of the dogs, the gecko, African gray (came in as a surrender), plated lizard and chameleons...and fish. The cockatiels and the gerbils are actively up for adoption as are 4 of the 7 dogs.

I just wanted to give you guys a quick update since i mentioned horses. On of our horses Varinai had twins the night before last!!!!!! TWINS!!! I still cant believe it!. Both babies survived, which is very rare if you dont know, we have one boy and one girl. The momma is doing great. she was a first time momma so she associated the babies with pain and isnt very fond of them. She lets them nurse but we have to hold her. Poor Momma.
I know it has nothing to do with iguana but I'm still in shock I had to tell someone :-P. I'll post some pictures next week! My mom took the pictures on her camera so it at home!
:-D
thank for putting up with my rambling, I'm totally still amazed by it!
just something on the side for those of you that dont have horses, twins usually dont survive either one is born dead and the surviving one has a 40% chance of living. most of the time when the ultrasound is done and they find out its twins they will kill one of both babies. there are usually complications when giving birth so sometimes people lose the mare also.
Just wanted to brag about how special my babies are!!

I have my two iggies, Audrey and Hercules.
Then there's my cat, Tigger. He's a bobcat hybrid that my brother rescued from death row because nobody wanted to adopt a wild hybrid. Suckers!!! He's a big cat, but he's such a sweety, nicer than any house cat I have seen. He ended up with me because I took care of him as a kitten while bro was deployed to Afghanistan. Not surprisingly, he turned out to be VERY territorial, and couldn't seem to adjust to living with my brother again (since he was an adult cat by the time bro came back). I love the big, furry freak. ;D
