Or: I didn't like hand grating all the hard veggies. (or my knuckles) I bought a little food processor from WalMart for 10 bucks and run all of the veggies thru it. eassssssssy

Hello Reading over this thread I can see that people have given you some great advice, so I dont really have much to add. The UVB and cat food issues really need to be dealt with. Iguanas need UVB in order for thier bodies to make Vitamin D, which is then used to aid in the absorption of calcium. Without the UVB/vitamin D combination, calcium is sucked from their bones back into the bloodstream. Aside from the obvious bone related problems, the extra calcium in the blood causes damage to major organs (kidneys in particluar). I see you are trying to find a solution. (our little green friends always seem to want to make things difficult for us) ;D Welcome to IZ. I hope you enjoy the site and find it helpful.

Hi Ginny Ditto what Veronica said. It sounds as though you've already made the decision to take him. They are awesome creatures and owning one can be a very rewarding experience. A 4 ft ig could pose quite a challenge if he isn't already socialized. (and possibly even if he IS ;D ) Have you had any previous experience handling them? Knowing their body language plays a huge roll when interacting with them. Here's a great link to help familiarize yourself with behaviors. homepage.ntlworld.com/steve.woodward/mk_sw.htmlPlease keep us updated and feel free to ask any questions or express any concerns you have. We'll be more than glad to help. Congratulations and welcome to IZ!

Hi Gwen It sounds like Eki is enjoying life.........and "Mom" is enjoying baby. ;D Hatchling igs are generally around 3 inches (SVL) and measure about 8 inches by the end of the first year. Eki looks to be around 3-4 months old.

Well HI Gwen! YOU are definately in love with your baby. ;D Isn't it grand? lol Eki is quite a beauty!! I recently snatched up a baby with similar markings (I'm fascinated by the white on the dewlap and shoulder area and SO hoping he retains them into adulthood.) Do you pronounce his name with an E that sounds like eeeeeeek or an E that sounds like end. Same question for the letter I. Welcome to IZ!! (be sure he gets that UVB consistently.)

OMG! I could only see the pic of her head in the other thread. I had NO clue how bad the MBD had affected her! An Angel indeed....... She also has found her own personal angel in you as her caretaker.

awwwww he's a doll! So much for "extremely aggressive" lol (but he could still get that way so don't let your guard down) Ya'll did an awesome job on the cage. Ya think your brother could come my way and help me with a new one for my middle "child"? Man...those burns look NASTY! I can't see well enough to judge how deep they go, but I think I'd still be putting meds on them.

Hey! We all know what it's like to get excited about poop. ;D He sure doesn't seem to be NEARLY as aggressive as we first thought! Maybe he just needed someone more compassionate to interact with. Good catch on the misting/calming thing btw ... You are already a super ig mom!
