Nice menu!! Well...except for the pizza that is...lol. The salt content is pretty high, too. Igs seem to go absolutely ga-ga for pizza though.

Not too bad Em...:-) Don't feed the banana more than twice a month though. It really throws the cal: ph ratio off. Add a squash and a beel pepper...and maybe some dandelion greens and you would have a much better diet...:-D

Thanks, I'll have to pick some up after I get off work sometime. =] I'm still trying to find more calcium oriented foods. thanks for the suggestions.

You don't want foods too high in calcium for the bulk of the diet. You do want a balanced diet. As long as you have a wide variety of items making sure the greens are always a part of it - you won't have any issues with low calcium intake.

Alrighty, like today I did green beans, mustard greens, sweet potato, and watermelon. Also, can iguanas eat grapes? Their not high in acid are they?

Grapes are not high in acids, but they do cause total renal failure in dogs. I do feed them to Zair since it seems iguanas process the compound that's in the grapes a little better...as long as their not fed as a large part of the diet.
You actually have less in your diet today than in your last post. You're aiming for more items...not less...;-)
Here's a basic diet you should shoot for: collard greens mustard greens dandelion greens green beans cilantro acorn squash red bell pepper
Watermelon is fine to feed, but only after a good meal of a varied diet. The red bell pepper does the same thing as far as hydration goes and it's healthier to boot...:-D

Ahhh, thanks. They say fruit and well, I thought that was okay. So what in there takes the place of fruit in their diet? I'm confused.

Fruit is an optional food actually. If you should decide to use it then do no more than the recommended amounts. Zair gets some about 5-6 days out of the month. This I usually feed directly. It's our "extra special" time...:-D

There are plenty of people that feed fruit daily. You just don't want to go over the 5%-10% of the recommended ratio of the total daily diet. The fruit thing is my personal choice for feeding so little...not that everyone should do this. You just have to watch your over-all amounts of everything...:-)

So, I went grocery shopping last night for my iggy. I was actually disappointed they didn't have mustard greens or dandelion. I got some collard greens, acorn squash, parsley, and some bell peppers. The bell peppers I got are yellow, orange, and red, do they eat green peppers as well? My mom also loves gardening so soon as things start coming up I'm sure some will make it to my iggys mouth and probably make it alot easier to get the veggies he needs. I'm learning the techniques.

Sounds like you have a good selection...:-D Most stores don't carry dandelion greens, but they grow rampant in many yards! As long as their chemical-free you can use them.

The bell peppers I got are yellow, orange, and red, do they eat green peppers as well? Yup, they can eat green peppers too. But, most of us choose the red, orange, and yellow peppers because their color stands out among all of the usual green stuff in the salad. A good mix of colors makes the food more visually appealing to your ig. Strangely enough, they can get bored with their food and not eat as much, so whatever you can do to safely make meal-time more interesting is going to help. ;D
