The store I shop at sells Dandilion greens, and boy do my 3 love them. But then there isnt much they dont love when its food! Im so lucky none of the 3 are picky eaters ;D This week its spring mix, sweet potato, collard, turnip greens, acorn squash, and stawberries for treats.

Yeah, soon as I put the food in she/he started going over to smell what was in the salad. I think he/she really likes the cilantro. Doesn't seem too appealed with the acorn squash. I printed out the food chart and I think I'm gonna go and get some more variety of foods. Theres no dandelion greens anywhere unless they will eat those flower looking things called dandelions in your yard? Any suggestions where to find them?

Yes they can eat the flowers as well as the greens, just make sure you get them from an area that isnt sprayed with pesticdes. Maybe you could grow your own?

Hmmm, grow my own I just need seeds. Are the flowers the same nutrition level as the greens?

The yellow flowers in the yard are dandelions. Some people call them a delicacy. In my area they call them weeds! The greens are where all the nutrition is. The flowers are just a treat

The "greens" are the leaves that the flowers grow out of. They will be close to the ground.

We've already sprayed our yards for dandelions. I'll just have to look around.

You can buy them from WHOLE FOODS.. They sell them there. Most likely your yard has pestisides, and other things to kill the weeds. I personally have never given him yard dandelions. I bought them from whole foods once. They were super expensive and not all that fresh at the time. Sometimes you just have to guage price, location, and health over a treat for the iggy. They're great for them but I just can't spend the money weekly to give him the greens, plus they're a seasonal item. Out of the season the price gets worst.

Yeah, but I don't get it they can sell all these other greens but not dandelion greens. I got some turnip yesterday. We don't have a "whole foods" here.

There's two whole foods in Indiana. One in Carmel, and one in Indianapolis.

Dandelion greens while nice, are not a necessity. As long as you are feeding a good diet you will be fine. There are plenty of healthy igs that have never even SEEN a dandelion!

I only feed Dandelion greens because I can buy them, they are $1.97 lb here. As Merlin said they are not a necessity.

Hallu all. Wanted to add my iggy's diet for this week and see what you guys think [s/he doesn't have a name yet cuz my brother sorta lost interest and I don't want to name him/her without his consent, though I call him/her Leggy]. Poor thing hasn't been getting a proper diet the past 3 weeks because my father sort of got bored of buying them. Next couple weeks a lot of changes will take affect and I'll be able to buy him/her the good stuff again [s/he LOVES endives, alfalfa and chicory, though his/her fave is Mulberry leaves ] -grapes [not much] -collard greens -plum [just the one...dun wanna get a gift every time I let him/her out!] -mulberry leaves -tomatoes for color [no seeds] -dandelion greens -cucumbers [not much] BTW: How do you guys get the igs to eat minced-mixed bowls? Leggy only likes eating whole things, and will often leave a bowl of cut-up greens [even his/her faves!] to rot, while the same mix without too much slicing leads to a lot more being eaten. But this also means that s/he plays the picky ig and only eats his/her faves =/ I tried tricking him/her by putting his/her fave whole greens on the bottom and minced on top, but s/he outsmarted me, and dug until s/he got to the whole ones and left the rest...
