Do you mean 1/2 inch cubes? I dunno about everyone else but I always cut the fruit to about 1/2 inch one direction, but then I cut it thin the other.....kinda shaped like an egg noodle. I figure if I was like an ig and couldn't chew, I wouldnt much rather try to swallow a noodle whole as opposed to something shaped more like dice. ;D

Wow! That was a tough one to find! Finally found this on Melissa Kaplan's site:
Helianthus annuus (WILD ARTICHOKE, WILD SUNFLOWER); plant may contain toxic levels of nitrates.

Fruit is to an iguana as candy is to a child. ;D With the exceptions of papaya, figs, prickly pear, and blackberries, it is pretty much worthless nutritionally speaking. Check out the food chart at webpages.charter.net/tesa64735/Revised2.htm for some alternatives to help expand thier diet. They will be happier and healthier with a larger variety of food. (definately more than 2 types of greens) btw: Are you soaking those alfalfa pellets in water before you feed them? If not, they pose a serious risk for dehydration.

I totally agree with Merlin. Why risk it? and there really is no reason to use a commercial product as a treat when ya have fruits and veggies around that will do a better job.

Good that you moved it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Kling is right. Commercial food is not healthy for the iguana, and the cat food certainly isn't. A few mouthfuls won't doom her, but if you let it continue...... You should definately move the catfood. If she is going for it after an outside excursion, have a green healthy snack ready for her instead.

Karen, How big is Lenore now? Sorry, I have a difficult time keeping track of everyone. Does she seem to be picking out one type of food? I would let her have her fill of dandelions one day and see how many of them she can eat, then compare it to what she is eating normally.

Well, I'd volunteer, but I haven't seen any in my local markets. Besides, Thrasher is preggers! She doesn't need any more stress. ;D
